«I was so lucky to be asked to write a commissioned piece for this years Sjøbygdafestival. The piece was written for Barokksolistene (℅ Bjarte Eike), Eirik Hegdal and myself. The concert took place in Selbu church, which was perfect for this setting; the room and the organ is a perfect match for the strings and bass clarinet! We were rehearsing from tuesday, and the concert was on friday. All of us stayed in Sjobygda for the whole period. And I must say I had a great stay there, meeting and being together with all these great people! It’s like a vitamin-shot for creativity.
And the programming of the Sjobygda festival is really good and varied: Where else can you get Indian ragas, Erling Borgen, Stian Westerhus, Barokksolistene, Paal Nilsen Love, Workshop for children etc. etc. in such beautiful surroundings. And the food and everything was just perfect. Eldbjørg has done a hell of a job, both to the place itself and the festival. Thanks!!» Ståle Storløkken, Aug. 2013
